The Agonist (El Agonista) follows Sebastián Manusovich, who was born with a motor disability and films his own life: his bonds, his children, his body, his humor, his pain and the possibility of a risky brain surgery that could change him forever.
From an intimate, uncomfortable and deeply vital perspective, the film opens a question that runs through the whole project:

Synopsis
Sebastián was born spastic. From that discomfort he films his life: lovers, friends, children and family. But over the years his body begins to hurt too much, and the idea of a risky brain operation, one that could change him forever, settles in his mind. Is that what he really wants? Is he ready to become someone else?
At certain moments in life we need to return to childhood. To remember who we were and how others saw us. What challenges we had to face in order to become who we are today. For Tato, revisiting the past makes sense now that he is about to make a decision that could change everything.
This is the story of Tato, a man born with muscular dystonia, a condition that makes his muscles contract repeatedly and turns moving, opening a packet of cookies or putting on a T-shirt into tasks that may end with something broken, spilled or with a fit of laughter.
Tato is now 50 years old and has been filming his life for 10 years, because a wild idea got into his head: to undergo risky surgery that could remove his muscular contractions and stop the pain he has been carrying in his body.
